El castillo de Praga es, pese a los sucesivos incendios e invasiones, uno de los más notables, suntuosos y emblemáticos vestigios del gran pasado histórico, cultural y social de la capital de la República Checa. Fundado en el siglo IX, fue la residencia de los reyes de Bohemia, emperadores del Sacro Imperio Romano, presidentes de Checoslovaquia y presidentes de la República Checa. En él se encuentran las Joyas de la corona de Bohemia. Con 570 metros de largo y 130 de anchura media, es considerada la mayor fortaleza medieval del mundo.
