The current Main Square was inaugurated on June 7, 1956, being the constitutional president of the Republic Mr. General of Division Don Manuel A. Odria. It consists of a main bust in which the Centaur de las Vilcas, Colonel Gregorio Albarracín Lanchipa, is found; two poles that serve to hoist the National Pavilion and the Tarata flag: it also has a Votive Lamp.
City center.
It is surrounded by four gardens with two gazebos at the top and two ornamental pools at the bottom. In the center of the square, the Peruvian flag was made in a robust eucalyptus, upon returning to the homeland after years in the power of Chile during the War of the Pacific.
