Trout are in great demand in the central part of the Peruvian Andean Region. This is due to its exquisite flavor and the great variety of dishes that can be prepared based on them.
Trout pool in Ingenio.
In this hatchery you can see the life cycle of this fish. Ingenio has about 105 pools that are dedicated to raising trout.
In addition, in the back part of the hatchery there are beautiful waterfalls and lagoons, the same ones that are surrounded by a truly exceptional flora and fauna. The nearby Chiapugio river is the one that waters the Ingenio hatchery.
The El Ingenio Fish Center is located in the Ingenio district, 28 km from Huancayo. In this place is the main trout farm in the region, where visitors can observe the biological cycle of this species.
