Called the ´´Encounter of two worlds´´, the image refers to the arrival of the Spaniards and to all the natural wealth of the region; in the center you can see the representation of the chief Chilimasa, curaca of the area who resisted the Spanish hosts.
The Main Square or Plaza de Armas, is located 100 meters from the Tumbes River, has been recently remodeled and stands out in the place an acoustic shell covered with a mosaic.
The locals usually walk or rest in the shade of the trees known locally as ´´matacojudos´´ (Kingelia pinnata). In the city the weather is warm and it rains during the summer (December to April).
