The core of the neighborhood is the Concepción campus of the Universidad de Concepción, known as Ciudad Universitaria.
In addition to the University City, there is the Plaza Perú, a characteristic area of the city. Fairs and meetings of a social and student nature are held there, mainly. On the other hand, there is the Ecuador Park, a traditional penquista recreation place.
The neighborhood is characterized by being the cultural ´´cuna´´ of the city (mainly due to the University of Concepción and all the museums that are in the sector) and for being the ´´lung´´ of the city. This is because there is Cerro Caracol and many forests.

By plane
Daily flights depart from Santiago at the Arturo Merino Benítez Airport. The duration of the flight is 1 hour.
By car
It can be reached from Chillán to the southwest by Route 5 South, it is 15 km., And then to the west by Route 152. In total there are 112 km. on asphalt road.
It can be reached from Los Angeles to the north by Route 5 south to the town of Cabrero and from there to the northwest. In total there are 130 km. on asphalt road.
By bus
Buses leave every 1 hour from the main terminals in Santiago, the trip takes 6 hours. From regions there are daily departures, you should check with the respective road terminals.
