Das bestehende Gebäude ist bekanntermaßen eine Reform des 17. Jahrhunderts mit einigen späteren Elementen wie dem Glockenturm aus dem 18. Jahrhundert oder den Glocken aus dem 19. und 20. Jahrhundert.
Das Innere weist keine Elemente mehr auf, die vor der Reformation des 17. Jahrhunderts entstanden sind. In dieser Höhe befinden sich die Lamellen der polychromen Kacheln des Kirchenschiffs, die Stuckaltarbilder der Seitenkapellen oder die Marmorkanzel, eine gute Skulptur mit rundem Kasten und quadratischem Boden.
Im neunzehnten Jahrhundert, in den Jahren 1829 und 1889, hatte der Chor zwei wichtige Werke, die viele der ältesten Elemente beseitigten. Aus dieser Zeit stammen die polychromen Putze, die auf das Heilige Sakrament und das Altarbild anspielen, ebenfalls aus Stuck auf einem Mauerwerkshintergrund.

Das Gründungsdatum dieser Kirche ist nicht bekannt, da sie 1534 existierte. Túlio Espanca glaubt, dass sie am Ende des 15. Jahrhunderts erbaut wurde, basierend auf dem zylindrischen Äußeren der Hauptkapelle mit typisch manuelinischen Merkmalen . Ein weiteres relativ archaisches Element ist das Hauptportal des Eingangs aus Marmor, das einen Renaissance-Aspekt guter technischer und künstlerischer Ausführung aufweist.
